DDIII - Dedication in Dumfries III

DDIII will be déjà vu - same system as last year -  TIZZ LIZZY will be making a triumphant return after headlining the VIBE FOR PHILO of January 2008

Acoustic LIZZY - the acclaimed acoustic duo of Rich Davenport and Dave Rowley will again provide the light and shade, showcasing another side of Philip Lynott's songwriting talent

Bringing Tizz over from Ireland is an easy but expensive decision so this year's admission is £12 in advance and the same on the door

Our Guest of Honour, Philomena Lynott's appearance is alas, not guaranteed due to family commitments

We hope to see you all there to celebrate Philip's life and music

Tizz Lizzy's website is

down - please click above for their MySpace page

Highlights from DDII

GLYDER have reluctantly had to cancel at the 11th hour as they have been offered 10 dates in Scandinavia with radio and TV promotion for their appearance at Sweden Rock Festival in June ..... an opportunity too good for them to turn down.

"We are very, very sorry about this and its just bad luck that this coincides with DDIII, Sweden Rock is probably going to be the biggest event in our career to date and we simply cannot afford not to take up this promotional tour. We have thought hard about it and I think Phil has a few cards up his sleeve, it will be a great night and Tizz Lizzy, the Heroes of this year's Vibe are the closest thing to the real thing that I've ever experienced so it will be an amazing night".

23rd July: Now the Temporary Forum's gone tits-up after freefoums server 'upgrade'!

The Rock Legend Forum wasn't the only one wiped and we had hoped it would be restored over the weekend.

Update 11th July: The good news is with the great help of our web-host 'United Hosting' we have the forum recovered. The not so good news is we've had to take it offline temporarily for maintenance and a security update.

In the meantime there is a temporary forum at:

http://rocklegend.freeforums.org/index.php

Thank You for your continued support and encouragement.

Title: THE ROCKER: THIN LIZZY’S PHIL LYNOTT

Catalogue No: DC10034

Release date: 16 April 2007 RRP: £9.99

Barcode: 5051083006446

Region 0 DVD Running Time: 60 minutes

THE ROCKER: A PORTRAIT OF THIN LIZZY’S PHIL LYNOTT

The Rocker is an in-depth look at the life, career and tragic death of legendary rock star Philip Lynott, the founding member of Thin Lizzy.

Thin Lizzy’s breakthrough song, Whiskey in the Jar, hit the UK charts in 1973. Its success was followed three years later by Jailbreak and The Boys are Back in Town, which became an international hit and fulfilled Phil’s dream of becoming a rock star.

This programme features interviews with Phil Lynott and his wife, Caroline Crowther, who speaks about him for the first time since his death; rare concert and television footage; clips from some of the great Thin Lizzy gigs, and classic Thin Lizzy videos.

With Phil’s mother, Philomena, Thin Lizzy members Brian Downey, Scott Gorham, Brian Robertson, Eric Bell and Gary Moore; managers Chris Morrison and Chris O’Donnell, and rock stars Jon Bon Jovi, Slash, Bono, Bob Geldof, Huey Lewis, Van Morrison, Mark Knopfler and Midge Ure.

26th February 2007

Today I received this message from Alison O'Reilly and decided to get my finger out and upload it here rather than just my usual lazy way and post it on the Rock Legend Forum only http://forum.thin-lizzy.info/

It's great to see Racheal looking so well now but I hope the last picture will still shock you - it shocked me.

Hi there,
I was hoping you might be able to give my documentary a mention on your website.

'My Heroin Hell, Rachael's Story' about a 27 year old former heroin addict from Mercer Street in Dublin who is fighting an amazing battle to overcome her 14 year heroin addiction – and against the lack of provision for drug treatment and rehabilitation.
Rachael is a huge Thin Lizzy fan and went to meet Philomena recently at her home in Sutton.
The programme features Philomena and Rachael talking about Phil and Rachael visiting his statue on Grafton Street and his grave.

Programme details:

'My Heroin Hell, Rachael's Story'

10th March at 2pm and again at 9pm

Sky News

We will also be on the Late Late Show on 9th March

Background:
Rachael started taking heroin when she was 13, and began injecting at 15. At one stage, she was told she might lose her arms because of the damage caused by injecting heroin.
The astonishing pictures, published last July, shocked everybody. Now, after a series of often difficult sessions in treatment, detoxification and rehabilitation, she's on the threshold of a new life.
She's clean of drugs, and will appear in a one hour documentary directed by Journalist Alison O'Reilly from Drogheda.

'My Heroin Hell' is a story of pain, grief, despair, guilt, courage, determination and –ultimately – triumph. It is a unique insight into the mind and recovery of a heroin addict.
Rachael is heroin free for eight months and is currently in Keltoi rehabilitation unit in the Phoenix Park. She is also writing a book and hoping to attend Trinity College in September to study politics and psychology.

Thanks

Alison O'Reilly

Cold Sweat - Dedicated To Thin Lizzy

Finnish band Cold Sweat have just released their CD

'Dedicated to Thin Lizzy'

It is available from the web site .....

 www.coldsweat.info

You can also see Cold Sweat Unplugged from a recent TV-performance (multimedia section)

I received a review copy of the album from Jari and the boys and if you like your Lizzy loud and heavy then this is for you. I put AC/DC's 'Back In Black' on after it and it sounded tame by comparison.

Forthcoming DVD's

Thin Lizzy: Thunder And Lightning Concert 1983

  Due for release: 16/01/2006

"This is the long awaited 'Thunder And Lightning Tour'; the tour that was to prove Phil Lynott's and Thin Lizzy's last.

The year is 1983, the venue Dublin and the stage is rocking. To add to the already charged atmosphere of a concert in waiting, we have fast-forwarded in time to include nostalgic comment from Phil's band mates Brian Robertson and Eric Bell recalling their eventful times together, plus the indestructible footballing legend George Best and musician Brush Shiels, recalling their many memories of the rocker and friend. But all this is merely a prelude to what is a pulverising gig containing all conquering favourites such as 'Whiskey In The Jar' and 'Dancing In The Moonlight' and many more. The 'Thunder And Lightning Tour' is quite simply the greatest performance from a group who were at their electrifying best".

Those awfully nice people at www.classicrockproductions.com are at it again with a triple DVD Box Set which wraps up "Masters From The Vaults", "Sydney '78" and "Rock Review"

Play.com

Proves that the move to "Angry Penguin" was a smokescreen for the release of "Rock Review".

Why does no one challenge this tat legally? Just goes to show anything Lizzy is fair game these days - witness the crap on eBay.

Corrs Single

The Corrs release their latest single "Old Town" c/w "Heart Like A Wheel" on Monday - 24th October.

"Old Town" has been played every day for the last three weeks on BBC Radio 2 as the single is on their playlist - thanks Bjay ;-) - suggesting they have made up their mind which is the lead track.
